You have a sphincter muscle, that sits right there between your prostate and bladder.

This is the muscle that prevents you from ejaculating and urinating at the same time.

When this sphincter is working properly, it closes off the bladder just as you begin to ejaculate.

This causes the semen to travel up your urethra and exit through the end of your penis when you have an orgasm

But in some men, this muscle does not operate as it should.

Instead of restricting tightly prior to ejaculation, it stays relaxed.

So instead of ejaculating normally, some or all of your sperm may go inward, and deposit itself inside the bladder.

If you begin having dry orgasms, or notice that your urine has turned off white and cloudy, you may be a victim of this malady.

You won't hear this from your doctors lips, but many cases of retrograde ejaculation are caused by medical man himself.

If you've been given drugs to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia, depression, or mood disorders, this could be the cause of your problems.

Other medications to watch out for include alpha blockers, and certain blood pressure or hypertension drugs.

If you're not on any of the above medications, you may want to check your blood sugar.

Why?

Because elevated glucose levels can lead to neuropathy, or damage of the nerves surrounding your sphincter, leading to retrograde syndrome.

There are other more serious causes of retrograde ejaculations, such as cancer of the testicles, multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injury, but I assume your doctor has ruled out these out.

Some recommend doing kegel exercises to treat retrograde, but personally, I wouldn't waste my time.

This exercise works an entirely different muscle, and will do nothing to treat this condition.

This condition isn't normally dangerous or life threatening,

But...

It can impact your ability to impregnate a woman, and may even cause full blown infertility in some cases.

It can also lead to unsatisfactory sex, especially if your orgasms have gone completely dry.

So what can you do?

If you have elevated blood sugar, take steps to bring it down.

If you're taking any of the drugs mentioned above, work with your doctor to wean yourself off them, if at all possible.
