Soy Dangers! Estrogen, Men, & Sexual Side Effects!

Do you eat a lot of soy?

If you do, that may explain a lot of things going on in your life.

Like those little lumps below your nipples.

Those bumps that are quite reminiscent of the little boobs your sister grew back in the 6th grade.

And what about those morning erections that used to wake you up bright and early every morning?

Have those skipped out on you?

If so, you can thank soy for that too.

And that raging libido of yours that used to be so strong just a few short years ago?

If you're gulping down soy milk by the gallon, tofu by the pound, and soy protein isolate by the spoonful, I've got a clue for you.

It just may be the soy!

Soy Dangers!

In all honesty, I'm not blaming the soybean for every single one of your hormonal problems.

There's a whole host of other culprits out there, ready and waiting to rob you of your sex drive and your manhood!

Things like endocrine disrupting chemicals, drugs and medications, high body fat levels, excessive alcohol consumption, etc, etc..

I know all of these contribute to the problem as well, but soy is a special one.

Special because of the massive propaganda machine, that has just about every single human being in North America absolutely convinced, that it's some sort of a magical, wondrous health food.

All this hype for a toxic, nasty tasting bean, that was nothing more than pig food here in the US a mere 100 years ago.

But I can hear you saying now, what about the Chinese, the Japanese, and other Asians who've been consuming soy for centuries?

First off, in Asia soy foods are fermented, which removes toxins and inhibits many of the nasty hormonal side effects.

These foods include...

  • Natto
  • Miso
  • Tempeh
  • Traditional soy sauce

Non fermented soy foods like soy milk, tofu, protein isolates and industrial made soy sauce are all modern inventions.

Foods humans had never consumed before the industrial revolution.

Also, in Asia soy is typically a compliment, a side, not a main course.

In other words, you won't find many Chinese eating 2 quarter pound sized soy burgers for dinner.

You won't find many who dump half a cup of concentrated soy protein isolate into their morning smoothie either.

But in the US, you most certainly will!

Today, Americans lead the world in soy consumption.

We also lead the world in breast cancer incidence, and have one of the highest rates of prostate cancer in the world as well.

As a matter of fact, next to skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men.

Are soybeans entirely to blame?

I doubt it, but I can assure you, they're playing their part.

Plant based estrogen's are a nasty thing indeed!

Still not convinced?

Here are a few more facts for you to chew on...

  • The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill conducted a study on high dose soy consumption in men. During the trial the subjects experienced nipple discharge, breast enlargement and decreased testosterone levels.
  • Dr Jorge Chavarro, from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, found that men with the highest soya intake produced much less sperm. On average their counts were 41 million/ml lower than those of men who did not consume soya products at all.
  • Studies have shown that Asian men who consume high levels of soy have smaller testicles when compared to non Asain men, who consume very little.
  • The Journal of Andrology and Urology released a study that found that with male rats, intake of soy proteins can lead to less testosterone production, and biochemical changes to their penile tissue and erectile dysfunction.
  • In 1913, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) handbook listed soya not as a food, but as an industrial product.
  • Up until very recent times, isolated soy protein was considered a waste product. Brilliant marketing, combined with food production technology has changed this perception. The addition of preservatives, sweeteners, emulsifiers and synthetic nutrients has transformed this non-food, into a major player in the American diet.
  • Soy contains goitrogens substances that depresses thyroid function, which leads to reduced anabolic hormone production in men of all ages.
  • The extremely high phytate content of soy inhibits the absorption of calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc from foods. Nutrients that are absolutely critical for optimal male hormone production and testicle function.
  • In 1992, the Swiss health service estimated that 100 grams of soy protein provided the estrogen equivalent of one birth control Pill.
  • A study published in January 2000, found that mothers who ate a vegetarian diet, high in soy phytoestrogens during pregnancy, had a fivefold greater risk of delivering a boy with hypospadias, a birth defect of the penis.
