What is Ashwagandha?

ashwagandha

What is ashwagandha? It's a shrub native to India. The root of this plant has been used for thousands of years to promote physical and mental well being.

Benefits of Ashwagandha!

Ashwagandha is one of the few aphrodisiacs that you can take at night. Most others have an energizing effect. If you take them at night you won't sleep.

No so with ashwagandha. This herb promotes GABA activity in the brain. GABA is a chemical produced by your body that promotes calm and relaxation.

The sex boosting effect comes from it's stimulation of acetylcholine receptors, that relax blood vessels near and inside the penis, which help with erections.

Ashwagandha side effects!

This herb has been used for thousands of years in India by children, the elderly, and everyone in between. There have been no reports of toxic side effects.

Dosage

Pass on the whole root powder, and buy an extract or tablets. Start off with a dose of 1 gram, and work your way up to a maximum of 2 grams per day.

Make sure you cycle the herb to avoid building up a tolerance.

Bottom line!

I wouldn't call Ashwagandha a potent aphrodisiac. The effects are mild, which make it the perfect supplement to take in the evening.

Since it does have a calming effect, it works really well in combination with yohimbe which can be more energizing and edgy for some people.
