low testosterone after prostate cancer treatment

by silvio
(malta)

Dear Sir,

I am 52 and had Zoladex and radiation for prostate cancer. I had my last zoladex in august 08. My PSA reads normal level but my testosterone level reads to the very lowest. My urologist seems to be confused as the effect of my treatment should be gone by now and my testosterone shouldn't be so low. I am more confused as I do not know what to belive.

Could you please foward me with some help.

Thanking You In Advance
Silvio

Low testosterone after prostate cancer treatment!
by: Mark

Hello Silvio!

Sorry to hear about your problems.

Low testosterone after prostate cancer treatment seems to be a very common problem, based on the number of emails I've received on the subject.

A common thread I've noticed among those who have contacted me is that many we're given the drug Zoladex by their doctors.

As you already know, Zoladex reduces your testosterone virtually down to castration levels, and it appears those levels don't always pop right back up once you go off the drug.

That's very unfortunate, because, as you know first hand, quality of life suffers quite a bit when levels stay depressed over long periods of time.

I have to be very careful here, because I'm not a doctor, so I can't give medical advice.

What I'll do is tell you what I would do if I were in your shoes.

Consider the information, than take it to your doctor before you make any decisions, as prostate cancer is not something you want to mess with....

First off, I'd begin supplementing with these herbs, cycling each so I'd take them no more than a day or two a week..

Tongkat Ali

Catuaba Bark

Butea Superba

I would purchase a Ball Zinger, and wear it daily to stimulate my testicles to produce more testosterone.

I'd make it a point to get adequate levels of sunshine in order to maximize my vitamin D production.

Finally, I would exercise with high intensity a minimum of 3 days per week which will increase muscle mass, and boost human growth hormone levels and other male androgens.

Once again I'd like to state, this is what I would do personally.

Make sure you speak with your doctor before you act on any of this advice.

Good luck to you!
